Being the Principal at Venue of Performing Arts (VPA) came from a lifelong love of dance and the performing arts.
After progressing through the ISTD grades Libby gained a place at Masters Performing Arts College on a three year, full time course. While there, she learnt from some of the industry’s most renowned teachers and choreographers and also graduated with her first set of teaching qualifications.
After graduation she worked in a professional capacity in a variety of areas within the industry. These jobs included pantomime seasons, the UK tour of Copacabana, contracts on a number of cruise lines, both as a dancer and show manager and also performing with Robbie Williams. Hair shows and corporate events also feature on her CV.
Teaching is Libby’s passion and since starting VPA she has gone on to achieve Fellowship status in both Modern and Tap with the ISTD. Continual learning and development is something Libby is passionate about and believes it is key for both the student, and the teacher alike.
She has now been invited onto the ISTD teaching teams for both Tap and Modern and continues to pursue her own training with additional courses linked to the ISTD.
Since 2017 Libby has been involved with the prestigious Janet Cram Awards, again in connection with the ISTD. She has also been invited to appear as a guest teacher in a variety of settings. In 2018 she travelled to San Diego to take part in a Dance Teacher’s Summit, another opportunity to expand her knowledge and allow her to pass on new ideas to her students.
“I hope to give all my students the ability and confidence to progress in the world of performing arts. I hope to share with them my passion and seek to make them well rounded performers who are confident in their own skin. I have enjoyed every step of the VPA journey thus far and am excited for what the future holds!”
